Wendy dragged a fold-up stool from across the cellar and placed it inches from slot 2232. Desperate eyes peered at her from within the dense enclosure.

"Good morning Ms. Wishgiven." Wendy said gazing at the determined genie.

"Wendy." Jeanne managed in an ill voice.

Wendy had been making daily trips to the cellar to speak with the wish giver. There was a tiny part of Wendy that felt compassion towards the genie warrior. Jeanne's determination to survive was resented by Lucas, but admired by most of the morph capable demons. Wendy was sure to spread the news about the tiny spirit who refused to give up. Jeanne had become a legend even in the darkest or realms.

"How are you today?" Wendy asked, just as she had been asking ever since Jeanne's capture.

"Well enough." Jeanne managed trying to reserve energy.

Wendy reached her hand to the bottle and raised the enclosure to the overhead light.

"I'm sorry to tell you this Ms. Wishgiven, but you're beginning to fade out." Wendy's voice cracked with emotion as she stated this fact.

Somehow this admission by Wendy caused an immediate panic. Something was different about her today. Jeanne was uncertain why exactly, but it felt as if someone had pulled the plug on her lifeline. Visions had ceased to exist from the outside dimension. She tried numerous times to tap into the power of Robert's love, but it was vacant... somehow hollow.

"Please replace me back into the wine rack and let me go peaceful like." Jeanne mustered, feeling whipped.

"Just like that, you're giving up?" Wendy asked with an incredulous tone.

"No other options.....just rest....time's up...." Jeanne said, noticing her hand beginning to fade.

"Jeanne!" Wendy screamed, her eyes huge with panic.

Ms. Wishgiven felt a sudden exhaustion as the light illuminating her heart was slow to dissolve. Drowsiness, sleep, fatigue, all she desired was to curl up and fall away. The urge was strong, the feeling desperate.

"Just stop it! You must fight little genie!" Wendy urged shaking the bottle.

"Thanks Wendy. You've been good to me here." Jeanne whispered, slipping away.

"NO!" Wendy screamed in an emotional outburst.

The dimly lit cellar blackened as Jeanne realized there was nothing left to survive for. Voices materialized all around her, voices of other genie warriors who ended their service within the confines of a lava bottle. Jeanne was willing to step over....suddenly she found it was the only possible choice remaining.
